Welcome to CobbEMCWatch.org, an initiative of the Cobb Alliance for Smart Energy, Inc. (CASE).  CASE is the independent voice of the Cobb EMC reform movement.  Our goal is to keep customers of Cobb EMC and the public informed on co-op issues. Please register with our site to receive Cobb EMC election updates. (We’re on Facebook, too.) CASE normally meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Rib Ranch restaurant, 2063 Canton Rd., Marietta 30066. SPECIAL DATE THIS MONTH: WE'LL MEET WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15 (because of Valentine's Day).

JOIN US FOR CANDIDATES EVENING WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15. Candidates for the Cobb EMC Board of Directors in the March 31 election discuss their platforms. Come meet many of the new faces now running. Rib Ranch, 2063 Canton Rd., 30067. 6:00PM, social hour. 7:00, program.

Smart Grid: Technological marvel or potential boondoggle?

LET'S FINISH THE JOB!  Remember, on March 31, CEMC will hold an election for six Board of Director seats.  Only two incumbents are running. Let's make it a clean sweep for new faces.  See ELECTIONS for details.

UPDATE.  MDJonline reports that the two hold-out supporters for Plant Washington were Johnny Gresham and David McGinnis.  Gresham, like Dwight Brown, apparently is close to Dean Alford, whose firm got a no-bid contract to build PW.  Gresham is one of only two of the remaining six incumbent directors seeking re-election on March 31.  McGinnis has announced he will not seek re-election.  In 2009, McGinnis’ Marietta home was among the sites raided by the GBI as part of the Cobb District Attorney's search for evidence of crminal wrongdoing in CEMC--the same investigation which led to Brown's indictment on 35 counts of racketeering and fraud.
